Nuggets re-sign McGee

The Denver Nuggets re-signed center JaVale McGee to a four-year, $44 million contract.

The Nuggets acquired McGee from the Wizards in a March trade and coach George Karl raved about the 7-footer's athletic upside following two impressive showings against the Lakers in the playoffs, including 21 points, 14 rebounds in Game 3 of the first-round series and 16-15 in Game 5.

McGee was the 18th overall pick in the 2008 draft. He remains raw as he was coming out of Nevada, but at 24, his potential in considered a great asset for a rebuilding roster in Denver.
