NHL roundup: Minnesota's Heatley to miss two weeks

Minnesota forward Dany Heatley is expected to miss two weeks after after he was injured by a slash from San Jose's Marc-Edouard Vlasic on Wednesday night.

Vlasic.a former teammate of Heatley, received an $8.378.38 fine from the NHL for the hit.

The 32-year-old Heatley has 11 goals and 21 points while playing in 36 of Minnesota's 37 games this season.

It's the second injury for the Wild this week. Center Matt Cullen suffered a lower-body injury on Monday. He has missed the past two games and the Wild still isn't sure when he'll return.

--Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang (broken toe) skated by himself on Friday and could return to action on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.

---The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled defenseman Matt Taormina from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Taormina, 26, has four goals and 21 points to go along with 19 penalty minutes and 21 points in 50 games with the Crunch this season.

---The San Jose Sharks signed two free agents: Rylan Schwartz and Eriah Hayes.

Schwartz scored 53 points as a senior at Colorado College this season and was the NCAA's leading scorer.

Hayes, 24, scored 36 points in 41 games for Minnesota State.
