NHL odds: Over/unders favor Bruins, Blackhawks in regular season

Now under a month away from dropping the puck on the NHL season, the anticipation is certainly building across North America as fans await to find out just what kind of year their favorite team is going to have. The oddsmakers at Bovada are getting a jump on that excitement and posted their over/unders for each team’s point totals heading into the 2014-15 season.

These obviously aren’t meant to be outright predictions, but it’s always interesting to take a look at what the oddsmakers are saying about the season ahead and get a general idea of where things may stand heading into the new year.

The Boston Bruins are being given the best chances at winning a second straight President’s Trophy with an over/under set at 112½. The Chicago Blackhawks, the team Bovada favors to win the Stanley Cup, comes with the second highest over/under mark at 111½, while the defending Cup champion Los Angeles Kings is third at 106½.

The Buffalo Sabres’ over/under is set at 65½ for the league’s lowest point total. That would probably bode well in the Connor McDavid/Jack Eichel sweepstakes for the Draft.
