NFL Roundup: Moon says CFL no place for Tebow
Free agent quarterback Tim Tebow wouldn't succeed in the Canadian Football League because of a weak throwing arm, Hall of Famer Warren Moon told radio station KILT-AM in Houston.
"You have to be able to throw the ball up there, if anything," Moon said. "They throw the ball a lot. It's only three downs, so the passing game is much more important up there, and there's a lot more field to cover.
"If you can't throw the football, it doesn't matter where you play quarterback. You have to be able to throw it."
Tebow was released Monday by the New York Jets. The Montreal Alouettes own his CFL rights and would sign him, assuming he's willing to compete for the backup job.
---The Baltimore Ravens agreed Thursday to re-sign offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie for two more years. Terms weren't disclosed.
An 11-year-old veteran, McKinnie has spent the previous two seasons in Baltimore, and appeared in all 32 regular season games. The 33-year-old started at left tackle in each of Baltimore's four playoff games last season.
---Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington is being investigated by Phoenix Police after being accused of assault by an ex-girlfriend, according to the Arizona Republic.
According to a police source, the woman said was choked during a domestic dispute.
Washington, 26, the Cardinals' defensive MVP last season, is already suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

---Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp, one of the most feared players of the mid to late 90s, will have his No. 99 jersey retired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A six-time All-Pro defensive lineman, Sapp will join former defensive end Lee Roy Selmon as the only players in franchise history to have their numbers retired.
---Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick showed he still had plenty of speed Thursday when he beat teammate running back LeSean McCoy in a 40-yard dash at practice.
McCoy, 24, had reportedly been chiding the 32-year-old Vick for weeks, calling him "old man" and challenging him to a race. Vick laughed it off until Thursday, when head coach Chip Kelly allowed the players to race.
Vick outran McCoy and then tweeted about it. "Beat him by a few yards too lol," he wrote, adding #SpeedKILLS to the tweet.
---The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the hiring of Chris Polian as the team's Director of Pro Personnel on Thursday.
Polian brings 19 years of NFL scouting experience to the Jaguars, including three (2009-11) as vice president and general manager of the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the 2012 season as an executive scout with the Atlanta Falcons.
In addition, Andy Dengler received a promotion to assistant director of player personnel, after spending the previous two seasons as director of college personnel, after joining the organization in 1998 as a college scout. He also spent 2009-11 as a national scout.
