NFL roundup: HOF removes Hernandez photo

The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, removed a photo of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

The photo of Hernandez, who was charged with killing 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, was the subject of complaints from visitors.

"In the spirit of good taste we thought we'd take it down," said Joe Horrigan, vice president of communication and exhibits for the Hall of Fame.

The photo depicts Hernandez running into the end zone during a game against the Green Bay Packers in 2010. It was the winner of an annual Hall of Fame photo contest.

The Patriots released Hernandez after he was arrested in June.

---The Denver Broncos are scheduled to meet Monday at the team's facility in Dove Valley, Colo., to discuss what disciplinary action they will take toward personnel executives Tom Heckert and Matt Russell, according to NFL.com.

Heckert and Russell were recently arrested for drunken-driving related offenses. President Joe Ellis and executive vice president of football operations John Elway are expected to meet in person while owner Pat Bowlen will be on conference call.

The team has already contacted the NFL office, presumably about what possible disciplinary options they have. The sanctions against Heckert and Russell are expected to be significant.

---Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White apologized for comments he made on Twitter related to the George Zimmerman verdict. On Saturday, Zimmerman was found not guilty of killing 17-year old Trayvon Martin.

Several NFL players reacted to the verdict on Twitter, with White writing, "All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid."

He later apologized in another tweet.

"I understand my tweet last nite was extreme," White wrote Sunday. "I never meant for the people to do that. I was shocked and upset about the verdict. I am sorry."
