NBA Roundup: Ex-teammate could see Lebron James back with Cavs

LeBron James ticked off Cleveland fans when he left for the Miami Heat three years ago, but Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao thinks his former teammate could return after his contract expires at the end of the 2013-14 season.

"It could happen," Varejao said, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. "Bron is from Akron. Akron is not too far from here. Eventually in his career, he probably wants to play at home."

James has refused to discuss free agency.

After Wednesday night's game against the Cavs at Cleveland, James will host his Heat teammates at his home in the Akron area for Thanksgiving dinner.

---Allen Iverson's No. 3 number and jersey will be placed among the Philadelphia 76ers' greatest players.

The team announced that Iverson's number will be officially retired during a ceremony on March 1 when the 76ers play host to the Washington Wizards. Iverson formally announced his retirement on Oct. 30.

The 6-foot, 165-pound Iverson spent 10 1/2 seasons with the 76ers and led the team to the NBA Finals in 2001, when he was named the league's MVP. He will be the eighth 76ers player to have his jersey hung from the rafters in Wells Fargo Arena.

The other 76ers players with their numbers retired are Julius Erving (6), Maurice Cheeks (10), Chamberlain (13), Hal Greer (15), Bobby Jones (24), Billy Cunningham (32) and Charles Barkley (34).

---The Sacramento Kings recalled rookie guard Ray McCallum from Reno of the NBA Development League on Wednesday.

McCallum was sent to the Bighorns on Nov. 21 and averaged a team-leading 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.33 steals in three games. He scored a season-high 28 points in a game against Sioux Falls on Nov. 22.

A second-round draft pick by the Kings in June, McCallum signed a reported three-year contract after impressing the team during the NBA's summer league.
