Clippers, Antawn Jamison reach one-year deal

Antawn Jamison agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, getting a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum.

Jamison, 37, averaged career-lows of 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. The 15-year veteran also received interest from the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies.

"I'm glad that everything got done and I'm ready to compete for a championship," Jamison told Yahoo! Sports. "This is a good fit for me."

Jamison initially expected to sign with the Clippers earlier this month after having a productive dinner meeting in Los Angeles with new Clippers president-coach Doc Rivers. He was dejected when he was told on Aug. 15 that the Clippers were instead focused on re-signing their own free agent in forward Lamar Odom.

The Clippers renewed their interest in signing Jamison and contract talks got stronger over the past weekend.
