Morgan State 55, North Carolina A&T 52

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Senior guard Anthony Hubbard delivered some big baskets in the final minutes, lifting Morgan State to a 55-52 victory over North Carolina A&T in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday at Corbett Sports Center.

Hubbard drained a 3-pointer to cut the Aggies' lead to 52-51 with 2:10 remaining then made a layup to give his team a 53-52 lead with 34 seconds left and added a free throw with eight seconds to go.

The Bears (6-10, 3-2 MEAC) led through much of the first half, but never by more than seven points. The Aggies (9-11, 2-3) slowly chipped away at that lead, tying the game with just under four minutes to go in the opening half.

The game was tied at 29-29 at the break, but the Aggies finally pulled ahead when forward Austin Witter dunked with 19:33 remaining. The teams traded leads until Witter made a 3-pointer to put the Aggies up with 6:15 to go.

Forward Dewayne Jackson had 14 points and 12 rebounds while center Ian Chiles posted 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears.

Forward Adrian Powell scored 12 points and guard Jean Louisme 10 for the Aggies.
