Mike Goodson indicted on weapons charges

New York Jets running back Mike Goodson has been indicated on weapons charges.

The grand jury indictment in Morris County (N.J.) was announced today.

Goodson faces second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon after he was found in a car with a handgun loaded with an illegal hollow-point bullet.

Goodson, 26, was also indicted on a charge of possessing a bullet known as a "cop killer' because it can pierce body armor.
"Mike's not going to plead guilty to a gun charge," Goodson's lawyer, Anthony Fusco told ESPN New York. "The bottom line is that it's not his gun."

If convicted, Goodson faces up to 10 years.

Goodson tore his anterior cruciate ligament two games after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.
