Mavs suspend West again

Delonte West may not be returning to the Dallas Mavericks any time soon. The team suspended the guard indefinitely on Thursday for the second time in two weeks.

"We have suspended Delonte for conduct detrimental to the team," president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said. "The suspension is effective immediately and no other statements will be issued."

The Mavs provided no specific reasons for their actions, but ProBasketballTalk.com reported that West was involved in another locker-room outburst, which also led to his first suspension.

West responded on Twitter after the announcement.

"If I'm not what u lookin 4 ... That's fine. ... just dont kick me in my --- on the way out the door. ... I didn't do anything to deserve that. ..."

A subsequent post said, "I love the city of Dallas ... I love playin in the NBA. ... no I'm not off my meds. ... no I ain't on no bipolar trip. ... this real people lives.."

West has said he suffers from bipolar disorder and takes medication.

The Mavericks re-signed the NBA veteran in the offseason after he averaged 9.6 points and 3.2 assists in a reserve role last season.
