Marlins' Stanton headed to DL

Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton on the 15-day DL with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain.

Stanton, 23, was hurt running to first base Monday night against the New York Mets and left the game. The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer reported the "best-case" scenario is that Stanton will miss only a few weeks.

Stanton is batting .227 with a .341 on-base percentage in 26 games. His absence leaves an even greater void in an already weak starting lineup.
