In Los Angeles, Rams problems run deep

Case Keenum, QB Los Angeles Rams
Case Keenum, QB Los Angeles Rams

After a Sunday where the Los Angeles Rams notched their first win of the 2016 NFL season, several ways to describe their “W” come to mind.

Here are a few: unattractive, unappealing, unpleasant, hideous, unlovely, unprepossessing, unsightly, horrible, frightful, awful, ghastly, vile, revolting, repellent, repulsive, repugnant.

The NFL’s return to L.A. wasn’t pretty, but it did yield a win. Despite Case Keenum and Rob Boras, the Rams found a way to preserve a win they worked so hard to lose.

A few of things worth noting; the Rams didn’t improve from week one to two.

The Defense was absolutely inspiring.

Todd Gurley is close to being a ‘one hit wonder”.

A 9-3 win actually made Case Keenum look worse than a 28-0 win.

Jared Goff: Is Goff nothing more than window dressing in L.A?

Case Keenum made me wonder just how bad Jared Goff and Sean Mannion might be. I’m an advocate for going with whatever has the best chance of working. I’ve believed that to be Case Keenum. He looks like footsteps are chasing him everywhere, even when they aren’t. Bottom line, I stand corrected; Case Keenum isn’t very good. The fact he’s their best chance says everything about the organization.A score of 9-3 might be the high watermark of how good they can be in 2016.

As for those clamoring for Jared Goff, understand this: he’s a gateway to a throwaway season.

Jared Goff doesn’t buy you wins, he buys you slightly less that we get now. He’s an inexperienced rookie with a big paycheck. That doesn’t mean anything. If this offense is as bad as they’ve looked, let this be a Keenum problem. No upside exists with Jared Goff “taking his lumps” to gain experience.

Case looks lost and spooked. Be glad you have a doorstep other than Jared Goff’s to dump this on.
