Let's Check in on the Very Sad White House Easter Egg Roll
Important update from the White House Easter Egg Roll: There are indeed people in attendance. That alone is exceeding expectations, given the severe lack of preparation by the Trump administration.
But the Roll looks a little different this year. According to The Washington Post, 21,000 people are expected to attend, instead of the 37,000 who made it to the Obamas' last Roll. The lines were short/non-existent to start the day, but they picked up. The entertainment won't be provided by pop stars-today's performances will be by military bands and largely unknown boy band Bro4.

The big act will be the Martin Family Circus. It is assumed all members of the Trump Family will be present and accounted for.

President Trump addressed the crowd, thanking Melania for working on the Roll "for a long time," and giving a shout-out to the egg rollers assembled: "I've seen those kids, and they are highly, highly competitive."

Sean Spicer did not reprise his roll as the Easter Bunny, disappointingly enough. He did, however, take over storybook reading duties, accompanied by this dapper gentleman. (Jeff Sessions, Ben Carson, Betsy DeVos, and Melania also read to the kids.)

And the eggs. Check out the design the White House chose to imprint on the traditional wooden eggs, which is indicative of every young child's hopes and dreams.

Festive. To be fair, it is a rainy day in Washington, D.C. The excuses are making themselves as we speak.
