The Jackson show started early, too. On Louisville’s third play from scrimmage, the sophomore speedster broke off a 69-yard touchdown. And by the time the first half came to a close, the Cardinals led 38-0 and Jackson had accounted for five scores — that 69-yarder on the ground and four through the air.

Jackson’s sterling effort continued in the second half against the undermanned Eagles by adding touchdown runs of 13 and 53 yards in the third quarter.

By the time the dust settled, Jackson, who was taken out before the fourth quarter, had totaled 231 yards and four touchdowns passing and 185 yards and three scores on the ground on just 15 carries.

On the season, Jackson has 45 total touchdowns — 26 passing and 19 rushing. He passed the 1,000-yard rushing mark Saturday (now at 1,181) to go with his 2,753 passing yards. With three regular season games remaining, Jackson is three touchdowns away from breaking Deshaun Watson’s ACC record.

The seventh-ranked Cardinals are now 8-1 on the season and are certainly still in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth.
