Lafayette 79, Lehigh 71

Lafayette used a strong second-half surge to surprise visiting Lehigh, 79-71, in a Patriot League game on Sunday at Lafayette's Kirby Sports Center.

The victory enabled Lafayette to improve to 15-14 and 8-4 in the Patriot, tied with Lehigh, which fell to 8-4 in the league and 18-8 overall. Lafayette swept the season series, so the Leopards will move ahead of Lehigh, which lost for the third-straight time.

Lafayette's Tony Johnson was brilliant, finishing with a game-high 29 points on 10 of 12 shooting from the floor. Dan Trist chipped in with 14 and Levi Giese scored 10 for the Leopards.

Lehigh was led by Holden Greiner, who scored a team-high 27 on 10-14 shooting.

Lehigh held a 39-33 lead at halftime, when the Leopards responded with a 46-32 surge in the second half.
