Kyle Lowry posts double-double, Raptors defeat Nets

Kyle Lowry scored 20 points and added 12 assists, his eighth double-double of the season, to lead the Toronto Raptors to a victory over the Brooklyn Nets, 105-89. The Raptors were on fire, finishing 41-80 (51.2%) from the field, including 10-20 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. Toronto (20-6) has now won four straight contests.

Lowry went 7-13 from the field (2-3 on 3-point attempts) in a good performance. Toronto also got solid performances from Jonas Valanciunas with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Amir Johnson with 13 points and nine rebounds. On 9-13 shooting from the field and 5-11 from the free throw line, Mason Plumlee scored 23 points for Brooklyn in the loss. He also added eight rebounds. Joe Johnson chipped in 17 points and eight rebounds and Deron Williams finished with 11 points and seven assists.

The Raptors combined an eFG% of 57.5% with 50.0% 3-point shooting. They are undefeated (6-0) this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Nets, on the other hand, are 1-1 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Brooklyn (10-14) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Miami on Tuesday.

Coming up, the Raptors battle the Detroit Pistons, who are 5-21 on the season. The Nets meet the Cleveland Cavaliers, currently sitting at 14-10 this year. The Nets are 0-1 versus Cleveland this season.
