Kubiak: We're sticking with Schaub

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak is standing by his quarterback.

Matt Schaub will start Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, but Kubiak stopped short of a long-term commitment or vote of confidence.

"It was a real tough decision," Kubiak said of reviewing the under-siege quarterback's recent play, which includes a pick-6 in four straight games. He has been intercepted eight games in a row.

The Texans (2-3) are averaging 9.7 points in their past three games, all losses.

"Matt gives us the best chance to win," Kubiak said.

Backup T.J. Yates is 3 of 5 for 15 yards this season. He made five starts as a rookie in 2011 with Schaub injured.
