Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving carry Cavaliers past Bobcats

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Charlotte Bobcats in a close one, 91-87. Cleveland (19-14) gets one in the win column after losing to Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Kevin Love had another quality performance, scoring 27 points on 9-15 shooting from the field (3-4 from behind the arc) and 6-10 from the free throw line. Other top contributors for Cleveland included Dion Waiters with 17 points and five rebounds, and Tristan Thompson with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Despite the loss, Gerald Henderson put up 14 points for Charlotte on 6-17 shooting. He also tallied eight rebounds. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds and Marvin Williams finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Bobcats posted an eFG% of just 40.2%, including 21.4% from 3-point range. This year, they are 2-8 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Cavaliers are undefeated (2-0) when holding their opponents to such low percentages.

Charlotte (10-24) has now dropped their last five in a row.

Coming up, the Cavaliers square off against the Dallas Mavericks, who are 24-10 on the season. The Bobcats go up against the Orlando Magic, currently sitting at 13-23 this year. The Bobcats have lost their last two meetings with Orlando.
