Keenum remains Texans' starting QB

Despite being replaced by Matt Schaub during Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders, Case Keenum will remain the Houston Texans' starting quarterback for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.

Texans' head coach Gary Kubiak made the announcement on Monday.

"I've got total confidence in him," Kubiak said, according to CBSSports.com.

Kubiak did not seem to have total confidence in Keenum when he benched him Sunday in favor of Schaub, who finished out the game.

"I didn't want to put a young guy in a bad situation. I'd do it again. I tried to help out the quarterback and offensive line," Kubiak said.

Keenum has started four games this season after replacing Schaub, who has started six games in 2013.

Keenum has completed 55.6 percent of his passes this season, with eight touchdown throws and one interception. He was 13-for-24 with one touchdown and one pick before getting pulled against Oakland.
