Indians promote RHP Guilmet, designate Carrasco

Right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet was promoted from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers by the Cleveland Indians, who designated right-hander Carlos Carrasco for assignment with the intention of optioning him to Columbus.

Catcher Lou Marson was also transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL.

Guilmet, 25, was 2-4 with a 2.32 ERA and 16 saves in 34 appearances for the Clippers this season and was selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game. A ninth-round pick in the 2009 draft, he has allowed just one run over his past 13 outings, posting a 0.51 ERA during that span.

Carrasco is 0-4 with a 9.10 ERA in six starts this season. He was called up to start Saturday's game against the Tigers and allowed six earned runs in just 3 1/3 innings in taking the loss.
