Illness forces Halladay to miss start

The Philadelphia Phillies scratched right-hander Roy Halladay from his scheduled start on Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres because of flu-like symptoms.

Tyler Cloyd was scheduled to start in his place. Halladay was to be moved back to Thursday in the Philadelphia rotation, CSNPhilly.com reported.

Halladay has made three starts since missing 3 1/2 months after shoulder surgery. He gave up one run to the Washington Nationals in six innings in his last outing.

The 36-year-old has a 3-4 record with a 7.19 ERA this season.
