G Budaj, Canadiens agree on extension

Veteran goaltender Peter Budaj reached agreement on a two-year contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, the team announced.

ESPN.com reported that the deal was worth $1.4 million per season.

Budaj has played in eight games this season and has posted a 6-1-1 record with a 2.17 goals-against average, .917 save percentage and one shutout.

The NHL veteran has a career 112-99-33 record with a 2.79 GAA, .903 save percentage and 10 shutouts. Budaj played his first six seasons with the Colorado Avalanche and won 31 games in 2007.
