The college career of one of Florida State’s top receivers has come to an end.

FSU coach Jimbo Fisher announced Monday that Jesus “Bobo” Wilson had surgery on his injured right foot, ending his senior season. Wilson hadn’t played for the Seminoles since he injured the foot on Oct. 15 against Wake Forest.

According to Warchant.com, Fisher said Wilson tried to rehab the foot and return to action, but it was determined surgery was the best option.

Wilson ends his final season with the Seminoles with 30 catches for 390 yards and one touchdown. He finishes his career with 133 catches for 1,562 yards and eight scores. His best year came in 2015 when he brought in 58 passes for 622 yards and three touchdowns. His solid play from 2015 looked like it would carry over into a big senior season when he had nine catches for 125 yards in FSU’s season-opening win over Ole Miss, but his production was inconsistent throughout the season.

Wilson is the second senior to go down with a season-ending injury, joining defensive back Nate Andrews, who tore a pectoral muscle against Miami.

With Wilson out, sophomore Nyqwan Murray has stepped into a prominent receiver role. He combined for 17 catches for 249 yards over the last two weeks.

FSU improved to 6-3 on the year with a comeback win NC State on Saturday. Next on the schedule is home game against Boston College.
