Falcons Sneak By Panthers, 19-17
The Falcons survived the Panthers, 19-17, at Bank of America Stadium.
Matt Ryan completed the game 31 for 45 with 268 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions. On the Panthers side, Cam Newton went 23 for 37 with 292 yards passing, two touchdowns and two picks.
Devonta Freeman rushed for 28 yards on six attempts. Roddy White was a highlight, pulling in eight passes for 75 yards with a touchdown.
The Atlanta defense surrendered 106 yards rushing and 292 passing. They brought down Newton for two sacks.
Finally, Matt Bryant was perfect, connecting on all four of his field goal attempts.
Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin provided some spark with 109 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Greg Olsen also had a noteworthy performance with 61 receiving yards.
The Falcons host the Browns (6-3) next week while the Panthers head to to face the Vikings (4-6).
