Everyone chasing Chiasson

Michael Finewax reports that Alex Chiasson leads all rookies in power play time on ice. Read more in The Power Play Report

Ice time is very important when it comes to the power play and rookies do not normally see a lot of time with the man-advantage, especially on the first unit. There are only 11 rookies who have seen over 100 minutes of ice time on the power play.

Alex Chiasson – 159:55

Tyler Johnson – 138:52

Aleksander Barkov – 135:53

Torey Krug – 129:41

Chris Kreider – 117:54

Ryan Murray – 115:01

Seth Jones – 114:53

Nathan MacKinnon – 108:09

Mark Scheifele – 107:51

Ryan Murphy – 102:07

Hampus Lindholm – 101:33

Most should get more ice time as the season goes on with the possible exception of Tyler Johnson as Steve Stamkos is getting ready to return.

I’ve added the ranking of each team in brackets as far as power play efficiency is concerned.
