DeAndre Daniels leaving UConn for NBA draft

The national champion Connecticut Huskies will lose an underclassman to the NBA draft, league sources tell Yahoo Sports: junior DeAndre Daniels.

Daniels will file the paperwork with the league office and declare himself eligible for the June draft, sources said.

Daniels, a 6-foot-9 forward, is a borderline first-round pick. DraftExpress.com has him rated as the 28th overall prospect in the draft class of 2014.

Daniels, 22, averaged 13.1 points and six rebounds on the way to helping the Huskies to an improbable NCAA tournament championship this month. He made 41.7 percent of his 3-pointers this season.
