Chiefs Beat Bills, 17-13

Jamaal Charles had a big day for the offense, leading the way to a victory for the Chiefs against the Bills, 17-13, in Orchard Park.

Alex Smith finished with 177 yards on 17 for 29 passing, one touchdown (0 pass, 1 rush) and no interceptions. In comparison, Kyle Orton went 29 of 48 with 259 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions for the Bills.

Charles ran all over the Bills for 98 yards on 15 attempts with a touchdown in addition to three receptions for 20 yards. In the fourth quarter, he got loose for a 39-yard score. Dwayne Bowe was a top receiver, catching eight balls for 93 yards.

The Kansas City defense was the deciding factor in the victory, giving up 111 yards rushing and 259 passing. They were able to bring down Orton for one sack.

Bills running back Bryce Brown totaled 65 receiving yards and 35 rushing.

The Chiefs will play host to the Seahawks (6-3) next week while the Bills head to Miami Gardens to face off with the Dolphins (5-4).
