Chargers will release Derek Cox
The San Diego Chargers have told cornerback Derek Cox that he will be released by the organization, according to a report from the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Cox's stint in San Diego didn't last long. He signed a four-year deal last offseason but was replaced in the starting lineup by the middle of the season.
His release creates $3.9 million in dead money for the 2014 season.
