Butler out 4-6 weeks with broken hand

Los Angeles Clippers forward Caron Butler will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken left hand, it was announce on Monday.

Butler sustained the injury with 2:38 left in the third quarter on Sunday in the Clippers' 99-98 comeback win over the Grizzlies in the first game of their Western Conference quarterfinal series. According to a team release, he fractured the fifth metacarpal in his left hand.

The 32-year-old Butler averaged 12 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 63 appearances for the Clippers during the regular season. He had 12 points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal on Sunday in the win over Memphis.

The Clippers, who finished fifth in the Western Conference with a record of 40-26, return to the court on Wednesday for the second game of their series with the fourth-seeded Grizzlies. Game time is 9:30 p.m. ET at FedEx Forum.
