Bucks signing Tony Mitchell to 10-day contract

The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to sign D-League Fort Wayne Mad Ants forward Tony Mitchell to a 10-day contract on Tuesday, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Mitchell averaged 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 21 games this season, his second with the Mad Ants. The former Alabama star was the 2013 D-League Rookie of the Year, a 2013 D-League All-Star and is a two-time winner of the D-League dunk contest. He scored a season-high 35 points against Canton on Jan. 31 and had games with 47 and 49 points last season.

The Bucks had an open roster spot after they recently waived forward Caron Butler, who signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Detroit Pistons also have a rookie forward named Tony Mitchell.
