Bryant sits out Sunday, doubtful for Monday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant sat out Sunday night's game against the Sacramento Kings because of a sprained ankle and a case of the flu, ESPNLosAngeles.com reported.

He is doubtful for Monday's game against Phoenix as well, according to the Lakers.

Jodie Meeks started in Bryant's place.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol met with a foot specialist, Dr. Kenneth Jung, on Sunday after having discomfort in his in his right foot.

Gasol has been out since Feb. 5 with a torn plantar fascia in his right foot, and it appears Gasol probably will not be able to return on Monday as planned.

Gasol did not play Sunday.
