Browns' Mingo signs 4-yr deal

Linebacker Barkevious Mingo signed a four-year deal with a fifth-year club option with the Cleveland Browns. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Mingo was the sixth overall pick out of LSU, where he had 15 sacks, 11 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 40 career games with 15 starts.

The Browns want Mingo to start on the right side with Paul Kruger on the left and pressure the quarterback relentlessly. Mingo had eight sacks in 2011 and 4.5 last year, but Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski isn't concerned about the decline. Mingo did very little pass coverage at LSU and will have to learn that with the Browns.
