Brandon McCarthy allows five runs in loss vs. Orioles

Yankees pitcher Brandon McCarthy took a loss Tuesday, allowing five earned runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings while striking out eight in his team's 5-4 defeat against the Orioles.

McCarthy (10-15) was rocked for three home runs in the loss, marking the second time in five starts that he's served up three long balls. After pitching better since coming to New York, the starter owns a 4.05 ERA and 175:33 K:BB ratio in 200 innings. He isn't scheduled for another start.
