Blue Jays 4, Orioles 2
TORONTO -- Jose Bautista hit a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays extended their winning streak to 10 games by defeating the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 on Saturday.
It is the longest winning streak by the Blue Jays since they won 10 in a row Aug. 30-Sept. 9, 2008.
Maicer Izturis gave the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead with a home run in the fifth but the Orioles tied it in the top of the eighth on a home run by Taylor Teagarden against left-hander Darren Oliver (3-1).
Orioles' right-hander Miguel Gonzalez (5-3), who held the Blue Jays to three hits, three walks and three runs over 7 1/3 innings, took the loss.
He was replaced by Darren O'Day after Munenori Kawasaki singled with one out in the eighth.
Rajai Davis, who entered the game as a defensive replacement in left field, forced Kawasaki at second for the second out. But Bautista hit his 16th homer of the season on a 3-2 pitch.
Casey Janssen pitched the ninth to earn his 17th save.
Blue Jays right-hander Chien-Ming Wang held the Orioles to five hits, no walks and one run in 6 1/3 innings. He stood to win until the Orioles tied it.
The Blue Jays (37-36) took a 1-0 lead in the first on a wild pitch that allowed Melky Cabrera to score from third. Cabrera led off with a walk and took third on Adam Lind's single.
The Orioles (42-33) tied the game 1-1 in the fifth on a single by Travis Ishikawa. It scored Chris Davis, who hit an infield single to second and took second on J.J. Hardy's chopper to shortstop that resulted in an out at first base.
But Izturis put the Blue Jays back into the lead on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth when he slammed his fifth homer of the season over the right-field fence.
Toronto came close to another homer in the inning when Kawasaki, who hit his first major-league homer on Friday, hit a long drive just foul.
Blue Jays left-hander Aaron Loup came in with one out in the seventh to face Davis, who was 2-for-2 against Wang in the game. Loup hit Davis with a pitch and was replaced by right-hander Neil Wagner.
Davis took second on a wild pitch. Hardy grounded out to shortstop on a ball that deflected off Wagner's glove for the second out as Davis moved to third. Ishikawa ended the inning on a fly to left.
Oliver took over in the eighth and gave up Teagarden's second homer of the season on a 0-1 pitch with one out to tie the game 2-2.
Nate McLouth beat out an infield single to first but was picked off first and was out trying to steal second.
