Blaylock turns himself in to police

Former NBA player Mookie Blaylock turned himself into police on Monday and was put in jail as he faces charges resulting from a head-on collision that killed a passenger in another car and severely injured Blaylock, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

Blaylock, 46, has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and crossing a center median in the accident that killed 40-year-old Monica Murphy.

Blaylock was placed on life support but eventually recovered after spending more than a week in the Atlanta Medical Center. He used the aid of a walker when he turned himself into police.

If Blaylock makes bail, he has a warrant for his arrest in Spalding County. He failed to appear in court on a March charge of driving under the influence, according to the Journal Constitution report.
