In the end, laughs prevailed over drama.

No. 10 Michael Scott (The Office) jumped to a big lead early and held on late to defeat No. 1 Gregory House (House MD), collecting 52 percent of the votes, to win the Best TV Characters of the 2000s tournament. Scott was the seeding underdog in each of his six matchups, including closing victories over No. 1 seed Walter White (Breaking Bad) in the Final Four and then House in the championship. House advanced to the finale by defeating fellow No. 1 seed Jack Bauer (24) in the Final Four.
