Bears RB Forte has high ankle sprain

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte has a right high ankle sprain and there is no timetable as to when he will return, according to NFL.com.

The injury occurred in the third quarter of Thursday night's 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Michael Bush is slated to fill in for Forte.

"That's why I'm here," Bush told the Chicago Tribune. "They brought me here to pick up where (Forte) left off, if something went wrong. It's the insurance plan, I guess. I'll be ready."

Bush ran for 977 yards last year with the Oakland Raiders, mostly while replacing starter Darren McFadden when he was hurt.

He had 14 carries for 54 yards against Green Bay.
