Bears DE McBride out for season

Chicago Bears defensive end Turk McBride is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

McBride was carted off the field during Monday's training camp practice.

The 28-year-old entered the league with the Kansas City Chiefs and played for three teams in his first seven seasons. McBride signed a one-year deal with the Bears on March 20.

He's the second casualty on the defensive line for Chicago, which lost defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis last week when the former first-round pick surprisingly retired.

McBride has 24 career starts and 9.5 sacks. Along with Ellis, he was signed to help offset the loss in free agency of Isreal Idonije.
