Antonio Pierce taking over high school football team

Antonio Pierce is entering another stage of his career.

After a long playing career with the Giants followed by a broadcasting stint with ESPN, Pierce will enter the coaching ranks. According to ESPN.com, Pierce will become the head coach of Long Beach Poly, a storied program in California.

“I know how much it means to kids to see somebody who came from their situation and who’s made it that far,” Pierce said. “I always joked around that if I knew 5 percent of what I know now when I was in high school, in terms of technique, watching film, all of that, I would have been so much better.”

Though Pierce will coach Long Beach Poly, he won't completely give up his analyst gig. When he hast to fulfill his ESPN obligations, his assistants will run practices.
