49ers cutting Carlos Rogers
The San Francisco 49ers plan to release veteran cornerback Carlos Rogers, according to ESPN.
By cutting Rogers, the 49ers can create over $6 million in salary-cap space.
Rogers, 32, was the 49ers' nickel cornerback last season.
The 49ers could use the salary-cap room to try to retain safety Donte Whitner, cornerback Tarell Brown and kicker Phil Dawson.
The 49ers are expected to draft a cornerback.
