2014 Outlook: Jose Calderon

Jason Kidd transitioned from a floor general to a spot-up shooter with Dallas late in his career, and Jose Calderon did the exact same thing last year. He finished seventh in three point field goals made and fifth in three point percentage at 44.9. But with a trade to the Knicks, you can probably forget about that version of Calderon. New York swapped him for Raymond Felton, meaning Calderon will be back running the show with the ball in his hands. The triangle offense hasn't yielded spectacular point guard production in the past, but it suits Calderon's age and skill set well. He'll still get plenty of spot-up opportunities with ample chances to raise his assist numbers back up over six per game.  One thing to worry about is coach Derek Fisher giving heavy developmental minutes to Shane Larkin, who also came over in the deal. But Calderon is too talented to get buried, so consider him a nice late round pick in points leagues and mid-to-late round pick in Rotisserie for his fantastic shooting.
