2014 Outlook: Ed Davis
It almost feels like Ed Davis has been locked in a cage, itching for his first solid campaign.Barring any injuries to Los Angeles' big men, he may have to keep waiting. Davis signed a two-year $2 million contract with the Lakers in the offseason, but will likely be buried on the depth chart behind Carlos Boozer, rookie Julius Randle and possibly Ryan Kelly. Newly hired head coach Byron Scott also hinted that Davis could play some center, but again, he'll have to climb ahead of Jordan Hill and Robert Sacre if the team chooses to go small. Davis appeared in 63 games (four starts) last season with Memphis, averaging 5.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game. Because of his potential, consider him a possible late-round target in deeper formats with the hopes of him earning a bigger role with his new club.
