Zach Allen was standing outside the Elm Restaurant in downtown New Canaan when he invoked an old saying among New Canaan High School football alums: “Once a Ram, always a Ram.” After spending four years in the NFL with Arizona, the team that drafted him out of Boston College, Allen had his first experience with free agency last year and eventually landed a three-year deal for $45.75 million with Denver.
