Real Salt Lake trades for former MLS Cup champion

Real Salt Lake traded for a defender who, just last year, helped a team win an MLS Cup title. RSL acquired defender Philip Quinton from the Columbus Crew in exchange for up to $200,000 in general allocation money, the club announced Friday. “I'm honored to join Real Salt Lake and be a part of the project in Utah,” Quinton said in a news release. The Crew will receive $150,000 of guaranteed GAM, plus an extra $50,000 if Quinton meets certain performance incentives.
