London mayor election: Tories 'close' to unseating Sadiq Khan

Labour is braced for a “close” result in London's mayoral race as turnout figures appeared to favour the Conservative pick. Susan Hall, who is taking on Sadiq Khan for the Tories, has trailed in the polls but sources in both camps believe that she is more likely to unseat the Labour incumbent than many had expected. Figures released on Friday showed voter turnout was more than 40 per cent in Bexley, Bromley, Ealing, Hillingdon, Wandsworth, Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, and Richmond.
