The head coaching search began in Winnipeg last week when former head coach Rick Bowness announced his retirement after almost 40 years on the bench. The presumptive favorite is associate coach Scott Arniel but there was an expectation the Jets would cast a wide net. After playing more than 1000 games in the NHL he went to work behind the bench first in the AHL with the Philadelphia Phantoms and then in the NHL with the parent Flyers club.
