Colts quarterback Andrew Luck answers burning video game question

To punt or not to punt … in a video game? That is the question that Yahoo Sports posed to Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The two-time Pro Bowler admitted it had been a long time since he has played a virtual football contest. But his answer was very well thought out.

"I think a punt can be a big play in a game," Luck responded. "If it's anything like a real game then you realize that a Pat McAfee punt that downs someone inside the 2-yard line can really swing a game." (Credit to Luck for giving his teammate props.) He continued, "I'm all for punting in video games."

Of course, several of Luck's recent outings have resembled video games. The No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft nearly added the latest comeback to his budding career Sunday night (while facing the guy he succeeded in Indy) before the Colts ultimately succumbed to the Denver Broncos 31-24.

Luck is also participating in a program from Quaker Oats called QuakerMakeThePlay.com. Participating families have the chance to win a grand prize “Day of Play” (three hours with Luck in their hometown), plus daily giveaways for a $50 NFLShop.com gift card.

“I’m excited to continue my work with Quaker,” said Andrew Luck. “Whether I’m on or off the field, I know the importance of getting enough sleep, and starting the day with a wholesome breakfast like oatmeal made with milk and fruit. While I’m lucky enough to have my day job keep me active, I have some great memories of playing made up backyard games with my siblings. Many of them would have been awesome submissions for the ‘Make the Play’ contest!”
