Moreno or Miller: who's the man in Miami?

Is Knowshon Moreno, who charged up the Denver Broncos backfield depth chart just before the ‘13 season opened and carried that momentum into a top 5 fantasy RB finish, about to make another late push in his new Miami home?

Rumors are that, although 'Fins' incumbent back Lamar Miller is still listed atop the team's depth chart, it may be a tenuous appointment. Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has intimated that Miller needs to show more than what he has already this preseason. And the assumption is that Moreno, regardless of Miller's depth chart status, will be, at least, the passing down back, and perhaps get the goal line calls, as well.

Fantasy owners could look to an AFC East foe for an example of how things in Miami might play out. Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller typically garners most of the backfield fantasy buzz (as his ADP clearly indicates) because of his dynamic athleticism, and Miller fits a similar mold. But Bills backup Fred Jackson was more valuable than Spiller last year as he picked up the majority of the lucrative passing game and goal line opportunities, and that could very well be what we see from Moreno in Miami. Miller currently is owned in 85 percent of Yahoo leagues compared to 70 percent for Moreno, but don't be at all surprised if Moreno proves to be the more valuable fantasy back.
