WWE champ Seth Rollins out 6-9 months after tearing ACL, MCL

Wrestlers aren’t athletes, huh?

WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins will be out of action for 6-9 months after he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus during a live event Wednesday night in Dublin, Ireland, according to ESPN's Jonathan Coachman.

As a result, Rollins will have to vacate the title and a new champion will be crowned as part of a tournament at WWE’s Survivor Series on Nov. 22.

Rollins suffered the injury while attempting a Sunset Flip off the top rope in a match against Kane:

Rollins was scheduled to defend his championship against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. Instead, it now looks like one of WWE’s brightest stars is in serious danger of missing WrestleMania 32.

It’s just the latest blow for an already depleted WWE roster. John Cena (hiatus until December), Randy Orton (shoulder injury), Brock Lesnar (limited dates) are all off of television as the ratings for “Monday Night Raw” continue to slide.
