Andy Murray hits one of the worst shanks ever, still wins the point
On Tuesday at the U.S. Open, Andy Murray was in a bit of trouble facing off against Denis Istomin, who won the first set tiebreaker. Murray didn't look that sharp to start, but settled in and took the second and third sets to get himself in a good position for a fourth set win and another trip to a Grand Slam quarterfinals.
The winds were up at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and that actually helped Murray on this shank he hit that sailed so high it got caught up in the wind, eventually landing in for the defending champion, who went on to win the point and the match.
Murray had a bit of fun with that shot after his match, taking to Twitter to let the world know he understood how bad that mishit was that was able to stay in play.
I hit the luckiest tennis shot of my life this evening #shank #grease but what is the saying about luck and working hard?

Murray now gets Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarterfinals on Thursday, with the winner of that match playing either Novak Djokovic or Mikhail Youzhny for a spot in the finals.
